Lyrics
CHILDREN'S MOON

Verse 1
When the moon is bright, but it's still daylight
And night won't fall for awhile
That's when you'll see the children smile,
A special moon--is in their sight.
It's a magic time in the warm sunshine
When the moon has come to visit with the sun
When it's still light outside but the moon is shining bright
And children everywhere are having fun.

Play children play- under the Children's Moon
Dancing in the Sun together everyone
has fun Under the moon
Under the Children's Moon
Under the Children's Moon

Verse 2
It's a special moon for those special folk,
Those young buds -still have to bloom
And children all through the centuries
Dance under that same Children's Moon
Children everywhere they like to share
The light- of the Children's ,Moon
Young and Old together there
Happy in the sun and the Children's Moon

Play children play-under the Children's Moon
Dancing in the sun-together everyone
Is a child -under the moon
Under the Children's Moon-
Under the children's Moon
I want to stay-I want to play
Under that very special light
The moment- will be gone too soon,
Under the Children's Moon
Description
Short Song Description:
Young and Old together can enjoy life, nature and play together
Story Behind the Song:
While conducting a workshop of writing poems about the moon with Grade 2 and 3 children in Inglis Manitoba -one of the boys said "Did you know that when the moon and the sun are out at the same time , it's called a Children's Moon?" I said "No, I hadn't heard that before" I kept thinking about what he said and a couple of weeks later wrote the lyrics for the song. Just this year Rubin Kantorovich and I recorded the song.
